I am a surfski paddler and student at Western Washington University. I grew up in Bellingham and started paddling when I was 11 years old with the Bellingham Canoe and Kayak Sprint Team at Lake Padden. Shortly after I started sprint kayaking, my dad started taking me out on the bay in a surfski and I really fell in love with paddling in the open water waves. Since then I have focused on surfski and have raced around the world including three World Championship events, winning the under 18 female division in 2019, finishing 2nd female overall at the 2021 surfski World Champs, and most recently winning the under 23 female division in 2022.

When I am not paddling or doing school work I also love mountain biking and trail running with my dog and using all the outdoor recreation space that Bellingham has to offer!

Proudest Accomplishment

Getting 3rd overall female at the 2022 Doctor, the most competitive ocean race in the world.

Hi, I’m Bennett.  I’m 12 years old and I love to bike, ski and run.  I prefer to bike with a friend, but even if I am by myself, I will have a blast.  I’m a very dedicated rider and I like to shred.  Lately I have been attending bike club at Whatcom Middle School where we take old bikes, fix them up them give them away to people in need of a good time on a bike, but can’t afford it.  When I am not riding you can find me hanging out with my friends scootering, skateboarding or playing ultimate frisbee.  I go up to the mountain to ski as much as I can.  I also love to run and enjoy frequent runs in Cornwall Park and the Galbraith winter race series when I’m not skiing.  I’m excited to be on this team!

Favorite Local Race

I would have to go with the Whatcom world cup because of all the amazing people and the fun trails. If you aren’t already doing them then I highly recommend you check them out.

Hi! I am Cal and I love exploring the local mountains either by bike or on foot. Growing up in Tucson, Arizona, I developed a love for outdoor adventure from an early age. Since then, I’ve also developed a passion for fitness and pushing my limits, primarily through cross country mountain biking. I love every aspect of the training and racing in this discipline, and Bellingham has been the perfect spot to pursue and enjoy this sport!

After taking 20ish years away from competitive triathlon, I started my triathlon 2.0 journey back in January of 2022. Over the last three years, I placed 2nd at USAT Long Course Aquabike Nationals in NY and traveled to Ibiza Spain as part of Team USA for the World Long Course Aquabike Championships! In 2024 I traveled to Utah to race a full distance Aquabike. I am an Athena endurance athlete and I love to inspire people to start their own journey. I am super excited and definitely humbled to be a part of Team Bellingham in 2025!

Proudest Race Accomplishment
In 2024 I traveled to Utah with my husband Don to compete at the Bear Lake Brawl full distance Aquabike that consisted of a 2.4 mile swim and 112 mile bike. The swim was my longest open water swim in a race ever. Although I didn’t cross the finish line, I cycled 82 miles to make that the longest distance I have ever completed in a race.

I’ve called Bellingham home since my days at WWU, and currently, I work for the Bellingham Fire Department as an analyst. Beyond my professional life, I’m blessed with an incredible family – two wonderful kids and an amazingly empathetic and supportive wife.
A decade ago, an ACL tear led me to discover triathlon as a form of rehabilitation and fitness. Swimming, biking, and running became not only tools for healing but also sources of passion and fulfillment.
Fast forward to today, and triathlon has become the focal point of my limited free time. While I primarily train for long-course events, I also enjoy challenging my speed in local short-course races. Balancing family, work, and my athletic pursuits keeps life exciting and fulfilling.
Favorite Local Place to Train

Whatcom and Skagit county roads are my favorite place to be on my bike.

I was born and raised in Bellingham, WA and I never really want to leave. I was active in sports my entire life and I got into running when I was 36 to stay active because some of the other sports were getting harder to find options for. I have grown to love it and the last few years I have been trying out the local Triathlons and Swimruns and I really like these races. I enjoy cycling, hiking, mountain trail running, swimming, fishing, and paddle boarding. My favorite activity is probably trail running but I really enjoy anything that gets me in the trails or on the water.

I have been married for 17 years and we have 3 kids. I enjoy coaching all three kids in their various sports so that keeps me quite busy when I’m not working. If I’m not working or playing with the family, you can probably find me in the Cascades running around, Fishing in the San Juans, or Paddling in one of the local lakes.

Favorite Local Place To Train

Stewart Mountain is my go to for running, Galbraith for mountain biking, and Padden for swimming!

I’ve been racing for 20+ years in triathlon and running events. I competed at Highline Community College and WWU in cross country and track. I also raced on the club cycling team at WWU. After college I raced as a professional triathlete and have continued to compete in the local circuit as well as a few destination races taking many podiums and overall wins along the way.

The 2024 primary goal is to return to full strength following a hamstring/hip injury last year. Once healthy the goal is to return to 10k to half marathon road and trail running racing.

When I’m not training, I work as a massage therapist and coach runners and triathletes with Team RunRun. I also enjoy yoga, paddle boarding and am a new dog dad.

Setting the course record at the Lake Padden Triathlon in 2013.

I started triathlon about 4ish years ago and fell in love instantly. I went from barely making 4th place in age group at Eagleman 70.3 in 2021 to winning my age group at 70.3 World Championships both 2022 and 2023. I recently took my elite license thru USAT, and I am racing as a professional athlete for 2025. I am also an avid trail running; almost as addicted to trails as I am triathlons!!!

I’m into all things mountain biking. Whether racing, filming, coaching, or engineering components, I tend to think about mountain biking. Lately, I’ve been passionate about coaching for Galbraith Gravity Racing, training for the BC Bike Race, and working on various mountain bike video projects. Some things that I’m proud of are being on the cover of AMB Magazine for my Tour De EWS, producing two Atmospheric River Rats movies, running my business Jank Components, hosting Pinkbike Academy watch parties, producing World Cup video content for Fox Factory, and most importantly beating Cal Skilsky at the SST Whatcom World Cup by 0.1 seconds 😉(Cal beats me regularly in XC races)

Favorite Local Races

Too many to pick. Galbraith Supreme, WWC, Cascadia Dirt Cup, Cascadia Super Gravel.

A lifelong athlete, I fell backwards into endurance sports as a way to maintain structure in my life after collegiate sports came to an end. In 2020, I spent one day trying to burn 10,000 calories just to see if I could, and it has been a heck of a journey from there.

I still spend one day per year burning as many calories as I possibly can. However, I now do it for a cause. In 2021, I founded an annual fundraiser for the Bellingham Food Bank called Hunger vs Hunger. The goal of this fundraiser is to raise as much awareness and funds for food insecurity as possible through endurance sports and community involvement. In four years, Hunger vs Hunger has raised over $393,000 for the Bellingham Food Bank. I average ~12,000 calories burned per day for my fundraisers.
My plan for July 19th, 2025 is to begin in Bellingham, road bike to Artist Point and back, do a 1 hour HIIT class, swim the length of Lake Whatcom, do a mountain biking lap on Galbraith, and then finish my day with a run into Fairhaven. This will be my longest and hardest fitness challenge yet!

I am a mom, wife, dentist, outdoor enthusiast, and endurance sports addict who has lived in Bellingham for 25 years. Though triathlon is my focus and also enjoy mountain, gravel and road biking, downhill and cross country skiing, trail running and hiking, and even kayaking. I like to be outside as much as possible and to have my family participate in all my endurance fun. Besides work and sport I spend a lot of time cheering on my 2 teenage sons who play competitive high school sports year round. I love to travel and have been to a lot of beautiful places, yet I’m always happy to get home because I think the Pacific Northwest is the best place to live.

I moved to Bellingham, WA when I was 4 years old and will always consider it to be my hometown. My athletic career started in middle school and high school with Track and Field and rugby for the Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club. After finishing my 14-year career in rugby, I transitioned to a triathlon for a new and exciting challenge. The last 3+ years of triathlon have brought many challenges and accomplishments as I try to figure out three sports, nutrition, grit during a swim workout, and work a full-time job at the same time. In 2024 I was able to complete my first ever Ironman 70.3 in Victora, B.C. When I’m not training for a triathlon, I work at the City of Bellingham Engineering Department in Public Work. I also enjoy going for a walk at the local parks with my wife and dog, stopping in for a mocha at a coffee shop, or hiking many of the great trails in the PNW.

I am a sprint kayak and surfski paddler attending the University of Washington. Growing up in Bellingham established an early and strong love for the outdoors. Throughout my childhood almost any free time was spent outside, mountain biking with my parents and hiking with friends in the vast local greenspaces. In 2013 I began sprint kayaking, and shortly after surfskiing, with the Bellingham Canoe and Kayak Sprint Team at Lake Padden. I was enamored with the feeling of being on the water and loved the freedom and confidence I had to explore different water ways in almost any conditions. Since 2013 I have continued to train in both sprint kayaking and surfski (although my primary focus is on sprint), competing at the local, national, and international level. In 2018 I first qualified for the US Junior National Team and am currently a member of both the US U23 and US Senior National Teams. Over my time competing I have achieved 12 national titles, four international podiums, and one American Record (MK2 500m).

When I’m not on the water I can be found studying Marine Biology and Chemistry at the University of Washington, skate skiing, hiking/backpacking, and cycling.

Born and raised in America’s Dairyland, I grew up in a family of inspiring athletes brimming  with midwestern charm. I gained a passion for biking and running from my Ironman parents, while I forged my own path as a skier and climber alongside my older brother and younger sister. Nowadays I have found a home in the epic PNW where I continue to share these passions with family and friends, albeit on a grander stage. For work I do backcountry trail maintenance across the state, and In my free time I’m devoted to earning my stripes as a mountaineer. I made strides this past season ticking off several volcanoes including our very own Komo Kulshan on skis, as well as several classic Cascadian rock climbs. I have also re-ignited an interest in races and competitions- my favorite being the Ski to Sea. In this event I have raced as a road cyclist twice. I have also taken up trail running, completing the Wallace falls 22 miler in 2023 (and taking second in my age group!). I love when an event includes several disciplines or a little twist. On my mind for the coming months are skimo races, gravel rides, my first marathon, and a million slogs in between.

A native of Northern Minnesota, I grew up playing most of the team sports and avoided running when possible.  While living in Colorado in my 20s and spending a lot of time hiking in the mountains, one weekend I swapped out my heavy hiking boots for an old pair of road shoes, found trail running and have been hooked since. I was soon spending my free time going out for local trail runs and seeing the benefits of building my endurance to help me move quickly through the mountains.

I moved to Bellingham in the Spring of 2020. After years of running trail half marathons, and saying I never wanted to run an ultra, I started ultra trail racing in 2022 finding joy in the training and competing in longer ultra distances. Bellingham is a wonderful place to live with hundreds of miles of amazing trail access within an hour. I love spending as much time as I can adventuring in our local mountains for hours. While not running I enjoy mountain adventures on my skis/snowboard and bikes.  I work in software development and also [coach runners](https://teamrunrun.com/coach/max-chmielewski-bellingham-running-coach/ ).  I also enjoy traveling the world with my wonderful spouse and enjoying the outdoors with our two senior dogs.

From gymnastics to pole vaulting comes triathlon? I discovered a passion for bikes on a bike ride with my dad my freshman year of college. I am entering my 4th year of racing triathlon, I realize that have grown a strong passion and dedication to this sport. My goal is to become a professional and I am grateful for Pacific Multisports’ support in this effort. Outside of the occasional outdoor rock climb and mountaineering adventure with my partner, Andy Dewey, my passion is triathlon. In the winter I love to do the local cyclocross series and ski. I am proud to represent Bellingham and Pacific Multisports for another year.
