Visit Bellingham | Whatcom County and Pacific Multisports are teaming up again in 2024 to sponsor 8-12 Bellingham-based athletes! We’re looking for runners, multisport athletes, mountain bikers, cyclists, and paddlers to represent Bellingham locally and at destination race events. In exchange, we’ll set you up with free race entries to Pacific Multisports’ races and other local races, up to $500 in reimbursements for race entry fees at destination races, and branded Bellingham/Pacific Multisport attire (up to $200 value), and an invitation to be part of a community of like-minded athletes. The application is open to athletes of all ages and abilities. Applications will be accepted until January 20th. Selections will be announced January 31st.

Can anyone apply?
- We are looking for runners, multisport athletes, mountain bikers, cyclists, and paddlers to represent Bellingham at destination race events. If you are an athlete and you work, play, or live in Bellingham you are eligible to apply. (Athletes 18 or younger must have approval from a parent or guardian.
What are the athlete benefits?
- Destination race entry fee reimbursement (up to $500)
- Bellingham-branded athletic gear (up to $200 value)
- Free entry into a selection of local races
- Invitation to be part of a community of inspiring local athletes
What are the athlete obligations?
- Must be a positive ambassador for Bellingham and Bellingham-based outdoor recreation opportunities
- Must be willing to take part in social media promotions and shout-outs to Bellingham Experience and Pacific Multisports (tags, and hashtags, etc. A social media best practices kit will be provided)
- Must be willing to help spread the word (through word of mouth and social media) about outdoor recreation opportunities in Bellingham and Whatcom County
- Must be willing to provide a photo and short bio for use on the Visit Bellingham and Pacific Multisports websites
- Must be willing to participate in a photoshoot to be used for promotion of the program and Bellingham
- We hope that athletes will be willing to wear Bellingham-branded swag (provided) in some photos before or after race events

It’s our goal to help both our residents and our visitors learn about the many ways to enjoy the vast array of outdoor recreation opportunities our community has to offer.
Pacific Multisports is a Bellingham-based community race event partner. We offer the services needed to deliver a successful race event from online registration to race day timing and results.
